⚡ IAMMETER Quick Start Guide (for Wi-Fi Energy Meters)


1️⃣. Introduction

Purpose: This guide helps you quickly set up and start using your IAMMETER Wi-Fi energy meter — such as WEM3080T, WEM3050T, WEM3046T, or WEM3080 — and connect it to IAMMETER-Cloud for real-time monitoring.

2️⃣. What’s in the Box

3️⃣. Safety Notes

  • Always disconnect power before wiring.
  • Wiring should be done by a qualified electrician.
  • Double-check phase and neutral connections.
  • Ensure CT direction is correct (arrow → load).

4️⃣. Basic Wiring Overview

IAMMETER meters support single-phase, three-phase (WYE or Delta), and split-phase systems. For safe and accurate measurement, wiring and CT direction are critical.

5️⃣. Wi-Fi Configuration

Wi-Fi setup video

  1. Power on the meter.
  2. The meter creates a Wi-Fi hotspot named iMeter_xxxxxx.
  3. Connect your phone or laptop to it.
  4. Open a browser and visit http://11.11.11.1.
  5. Go to the Wi-Fi tab, enter your home SSID and password.
  6. The meter restarts and connects to your Wi-Fi.

💡 Tip: After successful connection, the Wi-Fi LED turns on and the hotspot disappears.


6️⃣. Register on IAMMETER-Cloud

You can sign up via web or mobile app.

🌐 Web Registration

  1. Go to https://www.iammeter.com/home/login?a=1
  2. Click "Create Your Account"
  3. Enter your username, password, email, and meter SN, then click "Sign Up"

📱 Mobile App

Scan the QR code to download the IAMMETER app or use webapp. Register directly in the app using your device SN.

7️⃣. Configure IAMMETER-Cloud

IAMMETER organizes data as User → Place → Meter.

  • Place: a location or site (billing is based on Place).
  • Meter: represents one device (each with its own SN).

When you first register, the system automatically creates a Place and assigns your meter. You just need to:

  • Set the time zone
  • Assign each phase a Use Type (Grid / Inverter / Load / AC storage)

💡 Tip: If you select “Inverter” as one phase type, IAMMETER automatically displays the solar PV dashboard with generation and self-use rate.


8️⃣. LED Indicators

LED Status Meaning
Run On Device is powered
Run Flashing Device running normally
Wi-Fi On Connected to WLAN (“iMeter_xxx” hidden)
Wi-Fi Off Not connected (“iMeter_xxx” visible)
Rev On Reverse power detected (e.g., export to grid)
Rev Off No reverse power

9️⃣. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Wi-Fi LED stays off Wrong password, weak signal, or 5GHz router Try connecting via mobile hotspot first
Wi-Fi LED on but can’t access local IP Static IP outside router’s DHCP range Change to DHCP
Rev LED on but no inverter CT reversed or L/N swapped (single-phase) Reverse CT direction
Incorrect readings Phase mismatch or wiring error Check troubleshooting guide
